Braxton County Airport Authority
Limited Access Agreement

The Braxton County Airport Authority (BCAA), based on guidance by the Federal Aviation Administration, as well as the legitimate need for the security of the airport and the ability to protect against unauthorized and/or unrestricted access, has secured the facility through the installation of a perimeter fence and an access-card controlled gate.

Access to the Braxton County Airport is granted through the issuance of an electronic card key. The purpose of the perimeter fencing and electronic gate is to retain the ability to provide requisite security should the situation/need dictate.

The intent of this agreement is to provide for access through the main gate of the Braxton County Airport. Access will be granted based on legitimate need (Airport tenant, emergency services, or as otherwise designated by the BCAA).

Excerpts from the BCAA Gate Access Agreement

The undersigned agrees to the following:

  1. To provide requisite security to the allotted access (control the access of others, report of lost or stolen card property to the BCAA).
  2. To report suspicious activity in the vicinity of airport property to the property authorities.
  3. Operation of vehicles in the vicinity of aircraft in a safe manner (vehicle speed limit of 5 mph.
  4. No unauthorized use of vehicles on the runway.
  5. The assigned card is the property of the BCAA.
  6. When legitimate need no longer exists – or upon demand of the BCAA, the undersigned agrees to surrender the access card.

Note: The primary surface of the Braxton County Airport is for the use of aircraft. The need for vehicles to traverse the primary surface is a convenience which is an inherently dangerous situation. Access via vehicles to the primary surface is a revocable convenience. It is the responsibility of the tenant (who provides access) to properly advise operators of vehicles of the associated dangers and applicable rules/regulations (aircraft always have the right of way).

Conduct deemed improper (for example, but not limited to, the unsafe operation of a vehicle on the primary surface or unauthorized operation of a vehicle on the runway) by the BCAA is grounds to restrict, limit or otherwise eliminate unescorted access to the airport.
